Courses

We intend to run a series of subsidised courses, organised by the Group itself, to increase the sharing of skills and knowledge, and also to give confidence and experience to potential new tutors from within the group, by allowing them to run their own courses.  It is important in this day and age for full-time Coppice workers to have as many strings to their bow as needed in order to make a living, and to keep this vital industry alive.

Courses organised by the Group will be run on a heavily subsidised basis for Members, where Non-Members would be more than welcome to attend, they would be required to pay an increased fee. 

We ran a trial course in 2010, ‘Bent Wood Furniture’ with Richard Hobbs, which was extremely successful, with two new members also joining the Group as a result.  Bent Wood Furniture

The trial allowed us to identify the nature of administration required, and responsibilities there in, and also to establish how fees and expenses would be processed and paid to the relevant Tutor.
